No one who had told me to get out of the White House, made jokes about whether I was a citizen of the United States and never once condemned voter suppression would be receiving an invitation to lunch at the White House, let alone with me.

(268,969 posts)You realize that to them its all part of the job, and part of the game of being a candidate.. Didnt Harry Reid just announce the illness of Bob Dole, lifelong Republican and backer of Mitt Romney... Its a club folks, I know we like to think it isnt but they do separate the job from personal lives and for the most part their personal interactions.

(3,011 posts)Don't you think he's just being diplomatic? He's got nothing to lose. After all, tens of millions of people did vote for Willard (did I forget to say stupid people?) . Obama gives up nothing by appearing to be conciliatory. No way could I be that diplomatic! I'd have him arrested for something. Ugh.
