This is a thing of fucking beauty. Eat a bag of rancid dicks, fuckface insurrectionist.
"But as with its upside-down application of clear-error review, the majority is intent on changing the usual rules when it comes to addressing racial-gerrymandering claims," Kagan added.

I believe it's thinking judgmental thoughts about Alito. As grey cats will do.

(8,867 posts)Cooper v. Harris is a redistricting case out of North Carolina that the Supreme Court decided in 2017, similar to this case, and the Court struck down the map.
Justice Kagan wrote the majority in that case, and Alito says that her dissent in this South Carolina case based on an "imaginary version" of that 2017 opinion... again, an "imaginary version" of an opinion that Justice Kagan herself wrote.
Alito effectively guts the Cooper v Harris precedent, and then claims the author of that precedent, Justice Kagan, is misreading Cooper v Harris.

(1,113 posts)Alito has never been a reasonable human being. Alito is subhuman and Machiavellian. Thomas is worse. Chumps appointees just make it all much more dismal. The court is broken and everyone knows

(24,065 posts)grossly unethical behavior and partisan application of the law. It will be interesting to see if this is the beginning of a major change in relations on the court. Roberts needs to step up and enforce ethical standards being freely violated by Alito and Thomas.
