Trump can't fix his birth control mess

Trump vows to "NEVER" take away birth control — except he spent four years doing just that
Trump's attacks on contraception were unrelenting. He even asked the Supreme Court to block women's access

(Salon) If he's elected president, Donald Trump will try to take away your birth control. We know this because he spent his first term in office attacking contraception access from many angles and, in many cases, successfully cutting people off from this necessary health care. His efforts were so dogged, it likely contributed to the alarming national outbreak of syphilis the country is experiencing.

The plain facts need to be stated up front because right now there's a "controversy" over whether Trump has designs on taking away birth control. Trump, in his usual manner, is fueling this dispute with his favorite tactic: lying.

The current dust-up started Tuesday morning when Trump told Pittsburgh's KDKA News that he's open to letting states ban birth control. "Things really do have a lot to do with the states, and some states are going to have different policy than others," he said when asked about proposals to ban contraception. He also claimed, falsely, that his campaign planned to release "a policy on that very shortly, and I think it’s something that you’ll find interesting." This is the standard lie Trump uses when asked about abortion. For instance, Trump told Time on April 12 that he'd release an abortion policy plan in "two weeks." It's been six weeks and no sign of it.

....(snip)....

This, however, was a lie. We know it was a lie intuitively because Trump lies about everything. This is the same man who repeatedly said he would testify in his hush-money trial, but of course, wriggled away at the last minute. But in this case, there's a giant pile of receipts from Trump's four years befouling the White House. Even before he set foot in the Oval Office to the day he tried to steal the 2020 election, Trump let loose a horde of Bible-thumping fanatics across the administration who did everything they could to slap birth control out of the hands of women who need it. ..............(more)

Donny has used these weasel words on lots of things, not just abortion. It’s his schtick to pretend—at the moment he’s being interviewed—that he’s a thoughtful person, considering all aspects of a problem, and his diligent staff is hard at work writing it up. There is no policy and he really doesn’t care about the issue in question.

Besides being "interesting", this one will be "smart"...........in other words, "I didn't do my homework and I have no idea what I'm talking about".

2. Women make up over 50% of the voting electorate...

Even women who have made it a habit of voting AGAINST their better Social and Economic interests understand that Contraception is a far more tolerable alternative to abortion. That even Republican leaning women support Birth Control use, not just to prevent pregnancy, but for other medical reasons.

But voting for and showing up at rallies to support a man who LIES all the time about everything, takes a different breed of woman. One who is willing to offer up her daughter and granddaughters' future when it comes to having children when they are ready. Basically telling them with their vote, "You do not have the right of bodily autonomy, needed health care, or other rights."

Which is why Abortion and Birth Control are LOSING issues for the MAGA/GOP.

Nor about Trump's trials.

Nor about the top secret documents he sold.

Nor about the 'reich' comment.

Nor about Alito's 'appeal to heaven' flag.

Nor about Clarence and his corruption.

Nor about the 2 billion dollars Jared got from the Saudis.

Nor about Saudi complicity in 911.

Many here say the media has failed us, but that is due to the legal doctrine of shareholder primacy. Media execs don't care at all about 'truth' in news. Not one little bit.

Not.
One.
Little.
Bit.

Nope. They care ONLY about shareholder PROFITS, and this right-wing shit rakes in a boatload of money.

Do we want to fix that? Well, legislate a change in corporate governance so that workers, consumers and the environment are held equal to shareholder profits. And then ENFORCE it.

It's how capitalism destroys equality.

When making money becomes more important than the thing you do to make the money. Then taking bribes, running scams, breaking the law and endangering others becomes just as valid a way to make a buck as creating a product or offering a service.

News isn't news anymore it's mostly propaganda. It's a handful of filthy-rich elites telling the masses how to think and behave.
