Nikki Haley Surrendered, But Not Her Voters - Atlantic

The views of Nikki Haley Republicans—pro-Ukraine, pro-Israel, pro-market—reflect all those things that Republicans used to think in that bygone era when Reagans and Bushes and Romneys roamed the earth. But few feel any emotional bond to Haley. If she gives a Ted Kennedy style “dream shall never die” speech at the Republican convention in Milwaukee this summer, they won’t tear up. They’ll wonder what the hell she imagines she’s talking about.

Most of her supporters voted for Haley as a way to stop Trump. Haley’s announcement today that she intends to vote for Trump won’t raise their opinion of him, it will only lower their opinion of her. When she says, as she said again today, that she wished Donald Trump would “reach out” to her voters, she’s speaking words that may sound like English, but make no sense. The only way Donald Trump could reach out to Trump-skeptical Republicans is by pleading guilty to the many criminal charges against him and vowing to devote the rest of his life to restitution for the victims of his many civil frauds.

Sorry there's a paywall, I was able to read the entire article on my newsapp. Maybe someone knows where there's another copy of this?

Haley has sold out, for the sake of her own political future, but I don't see it doing her much good in 2028---
the Trump base will never go for her, and the voters she is selling out right now are less likely to vote for her again...

Not sue what this means with all the scurrying about; whether Haley is willing to be VP under Trump.

Could be Trump fails to make the election, Nikki Haley is the GOP POTUS candidate,

Trump and Haley and Netanyahu have conjuring goals.

Let’s not forget what kind of people we’re talking about here. They’re locksteppers and authoritarians at heart. She gives them the excuse they need to jump back on board, regardless of what he’s done. Maybe he’ll drop dead and she’ll be President. Maybe he’ll be impeached and convicted this time and she’ll be President.

This country is fucked in the head.

He hates women, they are just play things to him. Toys that are replaceable when he gets bored with them.

He is a user and an abuser. Fact, he wants to have sex with his own daughter and cheated on all his wives. He has no respect for any woman, just a pussy he can grab.

It doesn’t matter what his thoughts on women are, he wants to be dictator. If picking her is the means to the end, he’ll take it. It’s not like any VP he has would have any say in anything anyway. It would get him votes and that’s all that matters.

And don’t tell me she wouldn’t take it, she sees that as her path to power should he drop dead or whatever.

We need to stop with this simplistic nonsense. While he is incredibly ignorant, he’s not stupid, he’s not a fool. He’s devious and cunning, this would be the shrewd angle. He’s all about the angles.

The only thing he’s calculating here is whether picking Scott would get him more Black votes, which he absolutely needs, or even more of the women and moderate vote, which he also needs. However that comes out on the scale is what he’ll do.

She was adept at campaigning and there may have been a few who actually favored her, but mostly she was a symbol and nobody is going to care who she is voting for.

She too sold her soul to the evil demon who even put down her husband in uniform.

What does one call another who sells herself to the highest bidder(TSF)? Nikki Haley is a FAKE.

She may garner protest votes from a few never-Trumpers but for the rest of Republicania's citizens she'll always be "that south-Asian girl". The perfect GOP, not-a-Democrat, candidate to staff those rare occasions when "inclusiveness" is the featured pretense.

Everyone that I have heard interviewed that was for Haley, had that position because they were anti-choice, anti-women's rights, anti-immigrant, but hated Trump.

As someone already said, she is/WAS a conservative anti-Trump protest group.

VP plays no part in their choice.

But she's not getting the nod. Trump holds grudges. It's going to be Vance.

She talked a good game at first but folded in the clutch. She fell into line like the rest of them. And she won't be VP. Dolt 45 will pick Tim Scott or JD Vance: someone who will be content to stay in the background.
