LITTLE ROCK, Ark. Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin is taking legal action against out-of-state companies he said are violating state law regarding abortion services, specifically abortion pills.
Griffin sent cease-and-desist letters on Tuesday to New York-based company, Womens Health Medical Clinic and Aid Access out of the Netherlands.
He is pointing to two state laws as the legal grounds to take this action: the near-total abortion ban in Arkansas that went into effect in 2022, and the Deceptive Trade Practices Act.
DTPA allows Arkansas to sue vendors selling and shipping products banned in Arkansas to people living within state lines.

If 10,000 extra births occur, that will cause a shock to the birth stasis and incur $160K * 10,000 or $160 Million in taxes that AR state residents will have to pay for their education until the children are emancipated. Since this will affect poorer people more, that will mean that supplemental services will also take a hit, driving those costs up to $200 Million or more.... and that's in 2022 education numbers.
And that's just for 10,000 extra kids born in one birth year. As more and more kids are born, from year to year, this will just start to pyramid the costs. In a decade, at that rate, it will amass to 1/4th of AR's state budget.
The 2024 state budget of Arkansas is $6.2 Billion.
