The Biden Admin and Senate Democrats share some blame for Americans' misperceptions about the economy.

Americans perceive the economy through gas prices, rent, the price of fast food, and the availability of jobs. Skyrocketing rents across the nation and increases in fast food leads people to believe that the economy is failing. Even when all other macroeconomic indicators say otherwise, it's the perception that counts politically.

The Biden administration needed to be more proactive about rising inflation. For example, announce a DOJ or FTC or any other agency investigation into rising rents. The investigation should be into any patterns of price fixing among landlords. Not saying that any one person would be prosecuted, but a simple announcement of an investigation would go a long way to make Americans believe that their government is doing something, anything about rising rents even if it's largely symbolic. The same is true with food prices. Again, I'm not saying anyone or any corporation would be indicted but an investigation would go a long way to bolster confidence.

Being mad at the media does nothing to win over converts.

Give them a story to tell. Use one of the many agencies to look into price fixing among landlords. A few high profile investigations would go a long way to changing the media perception.

It makes for simplistic thinking to have such a ready scapegoat.

Gas prices: is there the price of anything else that we see its changes posted daily every time we go down the streets whether it's a few cents, a nickel or dime or more?

that are out there, many of which are positive for us.

Pay for the ads and build that positive perception now instead of throwing more money out there later trying to play catch up.

"The typical American voter does not follow political news."

Then how do you suggest Prez Biden and Democrats get the word out? Skywriting? Smoke signals? a reality show?

The agencies can hold press conferences about it. They can name names in the investigation.

Buy off key members of the media at multiple outlets and then just call them up and tell them what to report on. Would be the only thing that could counteract what Trump is doing.

than anything on the left.

Also liberals, progressives, left-wingers, moderates, and anti-Trump conservatives are all to one extent or another on the same side, but there are so many divisions and sharp disagreements that make it very hard for people to come together. Meanwhile Trump has his cult of personality and slavish right-wing base who will walk over glass to vote for him, along with plenty of big money supporting him and other Republicans

It’s not a fair fight.

Americans have no idea what Democrats say and do. "A simple announcement" nobody will hear and if they do won't believe and whine that's it's not enough.
