I know rural right-wingers love to portray themselves as hard-headed, practical, down-to-Earth, git-'er-done, hands-on,

shrewd, horse-tradin' folk.

And we all know they love posing for pics with the animals they have shot for fun.

But how could anyone think shooting a dog to death could somehow juice up this image for widespread public consumption?

I guess even for the reich-wingers, it was a rainbow bridge too far...

In other words, just dumb.

She is not only insensitive and cruel, she has terrible political instincts. A republican dog lover is every bit as devoted to their pet as a Democratic dog lover.

who was rabid and had to be put down. And even so, that was a really sad story. The shooting of Cricket was also a very sad story, but if you are going to compare movie characters, Cruella DeVille comes to mind instead.

they love their dogs and, if they had a hunting dog that wouldn't or couldn't hunt, they would re-home them. There are many decent, animal-loving people in rural America who have gotten a bad rap because of the likes of Trump and Noem.

Most adore their pets like family members. They are generally ignorant people, who have good hearts. They just are so provincial l, they don't get it
