Just received a call from the Peterbilt dealership that my truck is ready for pickup this afternoon.
Finally, I can get back on the road and make some money.
I won't be posting as much anymore, just early mornings and after I park for the nights.
Everyone, those I agree and disagree with, y'all have a great week and I'll see you on the flip side.
Peace out everyone.
Daniel.

(54,587 posts)No backpacks (I have back issues already from decades of abuse, hence my acquaintance with Tandrilax).
I mostly use generic Samsonite suitcases and/or Rimowa smaller trolley carts for short trips.
My friends in Hawai'i recommended I hire a full-time Samoan weightlifter, but I'd be too embarrassed to have a guy twice my size trailing me around, looking like a night club bouncer when he's not carrying my luggage.

(111,529 posts)I have friends who hit the corporate expiration age in their early 50s who trained as truckers so they could see the country without having to dip into their retirement savings. It has worked out well for them, even with all the jerks on the road.
Wave if you ever go down I-40 or I 25 in NM.

(7,872 posts)drivers out there. So I trust your own good driving will protect you from the crazies, and that when you check in here, you will find good information and sane opinion. Next Peterbilt truck I pass I will give the driver a cheery wave, just in case.

(16,003 posts)Dallas, Texas I was a victim of a hit and run 18 Wheeler. They decided they didnt want to pay the toll or wasnt paying attention. Either way they ran over a car with two young women. Their car got trapped under the big rig, when it broke free their car slammed into mine. I hit the median and spun 5 lanes across 35E.
The trucker never stopped. I ended up with a totaled car and the 2 young women spent months in the hospital and rehab.
Still have ptsd about it, happened a few years back.

(12,590 posts)some think that I purchased a new truck, that's on me because I didn't specify that my truck was in for a new clutch and her B Service at the dealership's repair facility, I still have the same truck as pictured in my sig. line.
She's been there for about 2 weeks and the mechanics did a fantastic job, as always.
Thank you everyone for the kind words and the offers of breakfast/lunch/dinner, very kind and I hope I can take some up on the offer.
I have a morning pick up at a copper mine in Miami, AZ going to Twin Falls, ID and then who knows from there.
