Hillary Clintons old post warning about politicians and dogs resurfaced and went viral on X (formerly Twitter) over the weekend after South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R) recalled killing her pet pup.
Dont vote for anyone you wouldnt trust with your dog, the former secretary of state wrote in February 2021.
Noem has been mentioned as a potential running mate for former president and presumptive 2024 GOP nominee Donald Trump.
In Noems new book, No Going Back: The Truth on Whats Wrong With Politics and How We Move America Forward, the governor describes shooting dead her 14-month-old wirehaired pointer called Cricket for being aggressive.

(27,893 posts)I remember one of the big pet stores (either PetCo or PetSmart) ranked the candidates on their animal policies. They ended up in this order:
Hillary Clinton
Mike Pence
Tim Kaine
And in a RESOUNDING dead last
Donald Trump
If any large media source would have bothered to report on that, it would have been helpful but the story sank like a stone and vanished without a bubble.

(2,888 posts)Hillary was right. Of course though, the powers that be couldn't see beyond their self-interests. Instead of stability and things flowing right along, they decided that a total clusterfuck Dumblestiltskin was the answer.

Because cats are more often the victims of abuse than dogs. Every shelter in the country has to lock out adoption of black cats in the 30 days before and after Halloween, to prevent abuse of those animals. I know because, by chance, I adopted a black kitty (RIP, my sweet girl) on the day they lifted the ban.
