n the excerpt, Noem writes she attempted to tame the dog, who she said behaved “like a trained assassin,” with an electronic collar, but ultimately made the decision to put her down by shooting her in a gravel pit after an incident in which the dog attacked a local family’s chickens and bit her.

“It was not a pleasant job,” Noem writes, according to The Guardian, “but it had to be done. And after it was over, I realized another unpleasant job needed to be done.”

Next, the Guardian quotes excerpts of the book in which Noem shoots a goat in the same manner. Noem describes the goat as “nasty and mean” and having a “disgusting, musky, rancid” smell. The goat made a habit of chasing and knocking down her kids, Noem adds.

Aiming to distinguish herself from typical politicians, Noem writes, “I guess if I were a better politician I wouldn’t tell the story here.”

If she were a better person she wouldn't have to write about her horrible person.

She wants us to think she's cruel and crazy, which in itself is crazy, except that she's calculating that it will ingratiate her to the right people.

There's nothing honest about these people. It's all image and projection.

It's too true to who they are. She may have been doing an angle, even if it's the truth. But she completely mis-read the room... as mosts R's misread it. Most people aren't cruel and inhumane. For her to think they were, shows just how out of reality she actually lives.

Thank you for bringing up the goat. Musky smell repulsive? What the crap was she doing with a goat in the first place? She's that completely dumb? Hubby just said she no doubt smells even more repulsive, given the decrepit state of her soul.

1) why was her dog running loose and able to even get to the neighbor's chickens?

2) why wasn't the male goat castrated as most are, to avoid the smell?

Even Alex Murdaugh, who killed his wife and son, didn't shoot their dog Bubba for catching a chicken.

IMO, they're in danger being anywhere around her. Psychopaths start with small animals and the path is well marked to killing humans. I don't know how old her kids are now... but I think child services should be checking in on them on a regular basis.

Not 100%, but children are often a product of their environment during their psychological developmental years...

just saying................

Same with corrupt parents:
I laughed when Gorsuch was the Republican's pick for head of the EPA? under Reagan was his mother....Ann Gorsuch.....
Mommy resigned suddenly after two years, when they were about to indict her for major corruption involving our environment.
Seems she was really "overly cozy" with many corporations that were trying to ruin our environment....
And of course the current example......Daddy Trump and his spawn........A fortune was made by Ivanka and Jared controlling the ENTIRE inventory of PPE during the Pandemic, and most assuredly taking a cut when dispersing it to the highest bidders....

Testosterone is not limited to males - females can also have varying levels. Perhaps Noem has an overabundance.

There are chemical solutions as well as castration. Noem may want to investigate a way to resolve her imbalance.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Testosterone

It is associated with increased aggression, sex drive, dominance, courtship display, and a wide range of behavioral characteristics.

Drug testing for all congress critters? (Probably work as well as metal-detecting at entering.)

They were dehorned until one horn grew back. These goats were the sweetest, silliest, most pleasant pets I have ever had. Never bit, nonthreatening. and ate weeds for a living. Deballed goats make great pets.

One of my roommates in college had a cat who was having babies. I asked if she was going to take it to the vet and she said "no, cats can give birth on their own." "What if something bad happens?" "Then it happens."

She explained she grew up on a farm and they always had a rotating crew of 6-12 "barn cats" and several dogs at any given moment that grew up on the property and were friendly and they fed them because they kept rats and other critters away, but they stayed in the barn and had free run of the land. If there were too many at any given time they would have the farm vet spay and neuter as many as they could find during a routine visit. She explained that of course the kids liked them and they all had names but invariably at some point one would go missing with no explanation, or it'd get too close to the woods and get taken by a coyote, or a hawk would grab a kitten. They might get stomped by a cow or kicked by a horse, and of course it was sad, but they weren't inclined to drop everything and pay thousands for emergency surgery to rescue it because there were always more cats as part of the farm ecosystem. Tragic, but "stuff happens,' it's the circle of life...

She also said if one of the animals got dangerous - if a cat or dog couldn't live peaceably in the environment - if one managed to destroy a chicken coop and kill chickens or was repeatedly hurting or biting the children, or spooking horses making them jump fences and risk breaking legs, they would eventually decide to put it down because they needed those chickens and horses, and once an animal decides it's okay to hunt in its own home, it's no good to keep them around. They always hated doing so, but it was necessary as a way of life.

This is way different than shooting a dog because you're "frustrated" with it or think it can't be trained. Even if KN was cool with this and that was her way, WHAT MADE HER THINK this would somehow be good optics when MOST people have never experienced animal "farm rules" and only think of animals as pets? If this is the club that destroys her career she deserves it. We don't need a politician who in any way thinks talking about dragging a dog to a quarry and shooting it in the head and being somehow gleeful about it is a good print story to put out there.
