Pit Bull puppy tied to back of truck and dragged down highway; recovering
ST. LOUIS, Mo. - A St. Louis dog is recovering after he was dragged for more than a mile down Interstate 55.
The dog, Trooper, was tied to the back of a pickup truck. The driver did not know the pit bull puppy was attached to the vehicle and pulled over after motorists honked and shouted to alert him to a problem.
The Human Society of Missouri rushed to Troopers aid and gave him emergency care. The organization said the dog suffered cuts and scrapes to most of his body, including some so deep the cuts have exposed bones.
The Animal Cruelty Task Force for the Humane Society of Missouri is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for intending harm to the dog.
Tips can be called into the Animal Cruelty Hotline at (314)647-4400.
