What the hell is going on with the US Supreme Court?

It's like they have all become Chris Sununu's?

They are trying to excuse and legitimize the insurrectionists who ransacked our Capitol on January 6th and threatened our elected Representatives and Senators.

Have they all fallen prey to the Trump spell?

They seem to be totally disregarding the laws and our Constitution and just making shit up??

Unless somebody can remove the pall that has enshrouded them, they are likely to do the unthinkable. They might even rule that not only does Donald Trump have "absolute immunity", but that he never did anything that would require immunity.

They have lost their friggin' minds. Too bad someone cannot remove their robes.

Gorsuch learned from his mommy,....... She was corrupt as hell when she was head of the EPA under Reagan. After permanently damaging the EPA for two years, and enriching Corporations that benefitted her family, the day before they were going to charge her, she quickly resigned and that was the end of that, But the damage was done to the environment, and she personally benefitted from most of her decisions and wiping out regulations.......Quite the legacy for a son to try and follow, but he seems to have one-upped her.

Criminals have rights, but ordinary women don't.

Repeatedly they distort the most plainly worded language for their modern spin while preaching original intent with medieval treatises.

Now, I know what you're going to say "Why, they can't make a law that only affects one person! It's against the rules!" and I answer who is going to stop them?

What we've learned is that there is no recourse in our government, it was built on the assumption that corruption would be rare, a person here and there, so the "consequences" for actions would be served by the non-corrupt.

The non-corrupt are non-existent on the Republican side and once the Supreme Court rules on anything, we have to fucking live with the consequences.

Accepting a packed and corrupt Court as having any shred of legitimacy is a terminal mistake.

Congress can -- and should -- correct this situation by expanding the Court (28 USC 1), preferably to 13 Justices to match the current structure of the Federal Circuits.

In addition, at the very least Justices Thomas and Alito should be the subject of impeachment hearings for bribery and corruption.

You cannot expect legitimate results from a rabidly illegitimate Court, it's really just that simple.

always said you can't expect people who see themselves as religious martyrs to make reasonable decisions. Unfortunately too many people are in denial about what's happening right in front of our eyes, so nothing is being done to stop it.

Our side is playing by the "normal rules" of the game while the other side is cheating every chance they get. If they aren't going to play fair, I don't see how we can win without there being anyway to hold them accountable for breaking the rules. Now that avenue is being shut down by this SC. In the end I think our leaders have to cheat harder and smarter than them just to keep the fascists from taking over.

Simple as that. Alito, Thomas, and Gorsuch are Republicans first, judges second.

The difference between the GOP and the Democratic Party is the Demnocratic Party respects the instutions of our government and the traditions that make our government free. The GOP saw a weakness, that they could install corrupt judges who will take orders from the party. The Democrats never would consider that because, although they nominate judges whose ideas reflect the parties, they would never dream of corrupting the Supreme Court with politics.

or maybe it's just that some have difficulty accepting that such an institution, purportedly the highest order of law in the land

could be so illegitimately (perhaps even criminally) compromised as this court so obviously IS.
