I am so happy that Joe Biden is President right now.

I have faith in him and his team. I believe they are knowledgeable and wise. I don't care if that sounds naive. It's a terrible situation in so many ways, but it matters that he is in charge. Whatever happens, it will not revolve around his ego.

There is so much we can't control, but we did put Joe in the WH because we knew he could handle situations like this as well as they can be handled.

I have some faith (at least for the moment) in Benny Gantz--given his experience--but he is not in charge and I have little confidence that Netanyahu will listen to him or anyone else in his war cabinet if there is disagreement on the course of action.

Joe Biden is NOT responsible for which "leaders" were chosen by the Palestinians and Israelis.

We can all be horrified by what is happening in the Middle East, but we shouldn't make stupid choices here because of it.

Those who suggest they are going to hold Biden responsible for Israel's Netanyahu are beyond naive', ignorant, or IMHO non-Democrats/disruptors--albeit I agree with Schumer's not-so-subtle suggestion that elections need to come and come SOON.

Let's keep that going exactly as it is, for the next several years. Steady as she goes.

It's comforting to know that there's an adult in charge, instead of a yowling, deceitful, petulant man-child.

Today's situation domestically and internationally is as bad as the 1930s. We were fortunate to have FDR then. We are fortunate to have JRB today. He knows what he is doing and has my 100% support.

We thought the Reagan and Bush years were bad, but that was just the appetizer.

What Trump and other fascists do is traumatize and beat down the populace.
So they are numb and docile. It is called learned helplessness.
There is nothing that can be done to stop the dictator and fascist rule.

I have already gone through the grieving cycle about our country and democracy.
I have come more to the acceptance stage of the cycle.
(This doesn't mean I give up, I am still fighting of course to save it.)

But many Americans appear to be a spoiled and entitled group.
They have more privileges and freedoms than any group in the history of the world.
They take it all for granted.

In this case, it is likely they are going to have to experience first hand what
it means to lose their democracy. It will be a steep learning curve but
hopefully they will emerge wiser.

but the idea that Americans have "more privileges and freedoms than any country in the history of the world" may have been true at one time, but isn't now. At this point, most of the developed world, i.e. Canada, Australia, the countries Western Europe, are democracies with National Healthcare and Higher Education systems that are nationally subsidized..Unlike Americans, they don't go broke when a health crisis hits or into deep debt as a result of financing an education...They have stronger labor unions, more public holidays and far longer paid vacation time. The ""spoiled American" trope is out of date and has been for some time.

Joe Biden has spent his entire adult life in high office and public service
as a US senator and then Vice President.

He knows what he is doing.
Thank God he is in office.

but I feel I must add that they are important because Joe is a decent and honorable man, so that he uses his experience to work for us. One doesn't have to imagine what kind of leader all that experience by a less honorable man would produce - one merely has to look at Mitch McConnell.

Statement from President Joe Biden on Iran’s Attacks against the State of Israel
HOME
BRIEFING ROOM
STATEMENTS AND RELEASES
Earlier today, Iran—and its proxies operating out of Yemen, Syria and Iraq—launched an unprecedented air attack against military facilities in Israel. I condemn these attacks in the strongest possible terms.

At my direction, to support the defense of Israel, the U.S. military moved aircraft and ballistic missile defense destroyers to the region over the course of the past week. Thanks to these deployments and the extraordinary skill of our servicemembers, we helped Israel take down nearly all of the incoming drones and missiles.

I’ve just spoken with Prime Minister Netanyahu to reaffirm America’s ironclad commitment to the security of Israel. I told him that Israel demonstrated a remarkable capacity to defend against and defeat even unprecedented attacks – sending a clear message to its foes that they cannot effectively threaten the security of Israel.

Tomorrow, I will convene my fellow G7 leaders to coordinate a united diplomatic response to Iran’s brazen attack. My team will engage with their counterparts across the region. And we will stay in close touch with Israel’s leaders. And while we have not seen attacks on our forces or facilities today, we will remain vigilant to all threats and will not hesitate to take all necessary action to protect our people.
