The truth is that Donald Trump undermined faith in our elections in his false bid to retain the presidency. He sparked an insurrection intended to overthrow our government and keep himself in power. No president in our history has done worse.
This is not subjective. We all saw it. Plenty of leaders today try to convince the masses we did not see what we saw, but our eyes dont deceive. (If leaders began a yearslong campaign today to convince us that the Baltimore bridge did not collapse Tuesday morning, would you ever believe them?) Trust your eyes. Trump on Jan. 6 launched the most serious threat to our system of government since the Civil War. You know that. You saw it.
The facts involving Trump are crystal clear, and as news people, we cannot pretend otherwise, as unpopular as that might be with a segment of our readers. There arent two sides to facts. People who say the earth is flat dont get space on our platforms. If that offends them, so be it.

(3,734 posts)It's not much different than any other cult or almost cult behavior.
They refuse to accept anything that they don't want to be true.
Try telling an Amway person that they probably won't get rich and, in fact, will most likely lose money.
They won't believe it. Instead, they'll quote what literature the Amway Corp. has given them.
The same is true of religions, the NRA, and the extreme, hardcore fans of most sports teams.
Remember the SNL slits about Da Bears fans. I remember one skit was, about who would win the Indy-500
if the Bears team bus was allowed in the race. The Superfans decided the Bears bus would win.....if Mike Ditka was
driving the bus.
It's driven by pure emotion.

(24,438 posts)cult behavior since long before he came along. Currently he's courting one of the biggest cults, Christianity. They won't fall in line quite as easily as some other cults did, though. They are not as monolithic as, for instance, the gun cult. He is getting serious pushback from a lot of Christians over his bible stunt. He's reached the point of just flinging shit against the walls to see what sticks. He acts like he doesn't have a plan for tomorrow, much less the next four years. How long did it take him to go from selling trading cards and sneakers to selling bibles? He's flailing and I am enjoying the hell out of it.

(277 posts)Of the ten virtuous acts spoken of in Buddhism, four are verbal: not to lie, not to engage in divisive talk, not to speak harsh words and not to engage in frivolous conversation.
Trump is 0 for 4.
