It's not like the MAGA clergy have a lock on amorality. After all, one can spend all day citing cases of non-MAGA clergy convicted of sexual assault, non-MAGA clergy with creepy sex lives and multiple marriages, non-MAGA clergy living large on church tithes, non-MAGA clergy using church money in skeevy ways, and other immoral behaviour.
I mean, really, has everyone forgotten that the Catholic church exists? Their clergy were living that way long before there was any such thing as MAGA.

(4 posts)People have also forgotten (and the younger generations probably never learned) that during the 1700-1900s, European powers collectively sought to build the Kingdom of God on Earth. Every dominion and state of modern Europe was a battleground for Christian ideologies to fight it out as they secured their own sectarian territories and goals. The remnants of this can still be seen in the politics of some parliaments and various Christian Socialist movements. Westward expansion in the United States was entirely about this, and the elimination of alternative views from people such as the Native Americans and Pacific Islanders. The British, always in service to the Lord, ripped apart the Middle East and later India, as part of an ongoing crusade against non-Christian powers, just like they did with Ireland.
People forget that the United States was the land of Christian Utopias, and that the Catholics have long manipulated history and people to continue the eschatalogical roadmap toward Gods Earthly Kingdom, and fulfillment of prophecy. People forget that white supremacy and Christian supremacy go hand in hand, two sides of the same coin.

(2,862 posts)There are people who are too stupid for cognitive dissonance, but it's really hard to ignore contradictions this blatant. If you can be convinced that Trump isn't the guy to make the USA more Christian, this might be the point that does it.
