Supreme Court ruling restricting abortion pill may help Biden and doom Trump this election

From the opinion page of USAToday.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/voices/2024/03/27/supreme-court-mifepristone-ruling-biden-trump-election/73106031007/

The American public is largely unaware and unprepared for an upcoming Supreme Court decision that could significantly reduce abortion access nationwide and create significant repercussions for the 2024 election. On Tuesday, the Supreme Court heard a case – the most significant since the Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization decision overturning Roe v. Wade – challenging one of two drugs (mifepristone) used in medication abortion. The court, whose decision is likely to come this summer, may opt to restrict use of the drug or even revoke its approval by the Food and Drug Administration. Two-thirds of adults have heard nothing about the mifepristone case, which would affect the method used for more than 60% of abortions in the United States.

How bizarre to live in a world where abortion is what tilts an election and not the fact that we might lose our society, economy and civil rights completely. The media really sucks at their job now.

according to all the legal experts I've heard. Of course anything can happen.

outlining in their opinion exactly the type of case to bring in which they WOULD restrict it, which the RWNJ lawyers can start working on to reach them some time after the next election.

Even Trump is trying to back step a bit from it.

He and they have a real dilemma. If they aren't outspoken purists for no exception banning they lose MAGA votes. If they don't ease off on exceptions they lose the more sane and moderate votes.

The Supremes gave the Dems and ordinary Americans a gift when they idiotically threw out Roe v Wade.

The Republican owned Supreme Court knows this too and will punt on this issue until after the election.

The SCOTUS is a wing of a political party whose goal is na complete and total ban on all abortions with no exceptions. They also intend to go after contraception.
