2. His time may come in a couple election cycles

As smart as he seems to be, he was in no way qualified to go from a mayor of a medium-sized city to Present of the United States. He's getting his experience now, building his resume to one day maybe be a serious contender.

4. I don't agree, in any world he was punching above his weight. Still going from mayor of a city of barely 100k to a major

Cabinet secretary is an extraordinary accomplishment.

He has time on his side.

He is a very smart young man who needed a lot more experience under his belt before running for president. As you say, cabinet secretary is an extraordinary accomplishment for someone of his limited experience. I'm sure he has a great future ahead of him.

I had similar feelings about Beto O'Rourke in 2020. It seemed he was skipping ahead in line instead of paying his dues and gaining valuable experience.

For the second Biden administration. He's definitely been the MVP of this administration. If he doesn't stay on, I'm hoping that he goes back to Indiana and runs for Senate or Governor.

You could plug him in anywhere and he's going to excel. It will be interesting to see what he does after his current assignment is up.

He did admirably well for a small city Mayor in the Democratic Primary.

Look at all the total dip shits who run for elected office with NO political experience whatsoever and think they have what it takes…. Looking at you Bernie Moreno and J.D. Vance.

17. Don't count Pete out. He has incredibly strong support from older folks -

who tend to be much more conservative on LGBTQIA+ issues than most.

He won Iowa in 2020 largely due to the support of older folks, who, I think, respond positively to his baby face and the respect he shows them.

He wasn't the candidate in 2020, partly because the Iowa caucus results didn't come in until after New Hampshire voted. Jim Clyburn's endorsement of the much more experienced and well-known Biden clinched the nomination.

Biden was the right candidate for the election and for governing now, but in a different cycle, Buttigieg might've grabbed the nomination, as the unknown Governor of Arkansas did in 1992.

Just my 2 cents...

No, I don't think we need to "wait another generation" for people to be more tolerant. If that's the yardstick by which we measure our candidates, I guess Kamala Harris is out of the running too because certainly we can't have a black woman president either?

I think democrats are smarter than that. And if we aren't, then I guess it's just white straight men from here on out? (SARCASM.)

We have to wait, perhaps another generation for people to be more tolerant.
