Housecats. They are convinced of their own fierce independence while utterly dependent on a system they don't appreciate or understand.

(10,290 posts)They rail against government interference and regulations. They complain about being forced to do things, like pay taxes, by the state.
And yet not a peep from them when draconian forced birth laws are instituted by the states everywhere. So, most libertarians want only Men to have liberty while women should be forced to poop out their babies. How libertarian is that?

(17,351 posts)I have always found it quaint and rather touching that there is a movement [Libertarians] in the US that thinks Americans are not yet selfish enough.

On some issues Chris was lone voice in a sea of stupidity. On many other issues he was a complete and utter asshole.
I still miss him, though. 😥

(3,721 posts)He'd be in full atheist mode and the audience (myself included) would be eating it up. Then he'd stop on a dime and defend Shrub on some matter, and the air would just leave the studio and the audience would sit there silently. It was maddening but it made for entertaining television.

(3,721 posts)that died right before we started shacking up. After he passed she gathered up his favorite toys and asked me to bury them in the backyard for her. I didn't know much then about cats then having only ever had dogs, so figuring she was just anthropomorphizing him, I decided to join in and asked "But, wouldn't he want other cats to enjoy them?" She told me that cats are generally selfish, but he was especially so, so he would hate the idea of any other cat getting any joy from his toys. So, the fb post tracks.
