He'll never spend a moment in prison.

It's become obvious that America's judicial system is as incapable as the rest of our government to deal with Him.

Seems that His greatest talent is finding ways around the rules that govern America, and to which we are all answerable.

Even if He loses November's election, the multiple courtroom dramas will continue to limp along. And even if He's found guilty of some of the charges against him, the judges will probably find it "unseemly" to jail an ex president, and end up sentencing Him to a term in Mar-a-Lago with an ankle bracelet.

But my greatest fear is that He will "win/steal it" in November. All the trials will become moot as we would be then be living in "Putin Land.." America as we know it would cease to exist and we would become one more country led by a dictator (who is more insane than all those who currently exist).

How do we stop this latter scenario that would redefine all world relationships? Wish I had the answer.

But back to the point of this post. He will never spend a moment in prison.

The nordic countries? Too cold. Good social safety net though.

Canada? See above.

The UK? Ok, national healthcare is a plus.

Germany? Ok also. Pick 'em between Germany and the UK.

France? Wouldn't mind, they've recently codified abortion rights.

Italy? No, leaning right. Good food though.

Spain? I dunno, could go right.

Japan? Everything is so expensive.

Poland? No, too close to Putin's invaders.

Netherlands? Maybe, have to look into that "Black Pete" thing.

Carribean nations? Good weather when no hurricanes. High income disparities.

Mexico? No, too much narco-terrorism.

Brazil? No, nice place to visit but a lot of poverty and probably 40 years behind us
on civil rights.

Argentina? Not enough information. Old nazis?

Nigeria? No, too many "royal scammers" offering to send you millions if you just give them your bank account info. This is mostly tongue-in-cheek.

Israel? No, too many wars.

Middle East nations? See above.

Russia? Hell no. Others may differ — Tucker Carlson, Edward Snowden.

Ukraine? No. War.

China? No. Economy is bad.

Taiwan? No. Too close to China.

Australia? No. Too similar to America but different.

India? I dunno, a democracy, I think, but that "cast" thing.

South Africa? Mandela is a personal hero of mine, but no. Apartheid and its legacy too close in recent past (see Elon Musk).

Ok, that's enough. I think I'll stay here, pending the result of the November election of course.

Canada (mainly Vancouver, which has a very mild climate and a superb standard of living)

Denmark (Copenhagen, which has a fairly mild climate as well)

Norway (Oslo area mainly)

Switzerland (multiple cities, including Lausanne, Geneva, Zürich, and the Paradiso/Lugano area)

New Zealand (especially Auckland, love the Grey Lynn/Ponsonby area)

Australia (many parts of Melbourne (St Kilda especially) and Sydney)

Belgium (especially Antwerp and Brussels)

The Netherlands (Rotterdam and Amsterdam especially)

Italy (Milano and Roma)

France (Paris, especially the Le Marais neigbourhood)

Monaco (££££££ though)

Germany (multiple cities, Berlin, of course, plus Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Köln, München, etc)

Portugal (Lisboa and Porto mainly)

Austria (Vienna is a wonderful place to live)

Luxembourg (extremely high standard of living)

Spain (Barcelona, Madrid, San Sebastián, and Bilbao, with Vigo, in Galicia, as a hidden gem)

I lived in Hong Kong (Victoria Peak) for a spell as a young child, but China has made it too risky.

Fri Mar 15, 2024, 01:24 PM

I know some people wont believe this, but its true. He has no legal defense. There is no legal basis to dismiss the case and it will be reinstated by the 11th Circuit if Cannon tries such action. There is also a good chance they have held back additional charges from Bedminster which are in a different Federal district unfriendly to Trump. He will be convicted, and he will be sentenced to some sort of secure military facility for some sort of "house arrest".

Unless you think there was actually "massive fraud" in 2020 in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Arizona and Wisconsin, Biden is easily re-elected with Georgia being the only State likely to change in 2024. The ridiculous media trying to portray a "two horse race down to the wire" notwithstanding.

41. That entirely depends on the loyalties of one judge Cannon
Fri Mar 15, 2024, 04:29 PM

So far she's shown considerable deference to team Trump. She can use the scheduling of this important federal case to interfere with any concurrent prosecution for various other charges.

By dismissing the defense motion about vagueness of the espionage act "without prejudice", she's left open the possibility that it comes up again. If that "again" happens after the jury is seated, she can grant the motion and throw out the case and Trump walks free. Prosecutor can't appeal due to double jeopardy restrictions. Not saying this is necessarily how it will play out, but it is a tactic that remains available to the Trumpistas.

Letting judge Cannon squat on this case has turned out to be a terrible mistake. I'm not sure what possible approaches were available to remove her before this, but it's probably too late now. We can only hope she feels at least as much loyalty to the nation she inhabits as she does to the president who appointed her to her current position. I am not optimistic.

59. Yes, the honest, true, and unfair truth is that Trump will never spend a moment incarcerated.

As deserving as Trump is to be in jail or prison, this country is not ready to put an ex-president behind bars, making us a banana republic. Reality may suck, but it is what it is.

to overcome. This will go on endlessly, with news reports, lawyers getting rich and judges doing nothing. If we want it to end, we will have to end it at the ballot box, and then, use public pressure to bring it to a close and send the guy to prison for the rest of his life.

If he thinks he'll lose, he'll skip the country.

It's the right wing "powers" (fuckheads) that be - Fox, AM radio, megachurches, the NRA, the Federalist Society, TPUSA, the Daily Caller, Infowars, the Heritage Foundation, the list goes on and on. If we are to make any real progress in this country, we have to realize that the right wing echo chamber is an existential threat to this country.

Which legal rights of a defendant are you willing to eliminate for everyone in order to ensure Trump goes tormorison?

The ONLY choice in the judicial system is to send him to lock up. It’s the right thing to do.
Yes, the Repugs are hoping they can guilt the powers that be into taking it easy on him but he is a traitor and deserves it.
We won’t be rid of him until they do.

We need an upgrade on our SCOTUS and Judge Cannon in order to do just that.

Guilty and is facing jail, he will go to Hungery. I'm sure that was discussed.
Or 'ol pooty-poot will take him in.
But, yeah, I agree he will never go to prison
