It never gets mentioned, but Hungary has some very strict gun laws. Your guy Trump loves him an autocrat who would trash your favorite right if he had his way.
I think it's purposely being kept from you just how embracing autocracy can backfire. They tell you what you want to hear about taking away the rights of others, but leave out the parts you won't want to hear. Just saying.

(12,488 posts)I see a 5 yr average around 3.8% with a spike in late 22 to mid 23 and a current rate of 3.7%

(65,289 posts)A year ago this month, it was in fact, measured at 25.6%.
Also, that spike wasn't from late '22 to early '23
I have to question that 5 year average, too.
From these data, there are no zero or negative values, and from Jan22 to November23 (23 months) the low was 7.9%, the high was 26.2% & 9 months were 20% or higher. (Sum = 220.5)
8 more months were between 10 & 19%. (Sum = 116.6)
If all the other 43 months were zero, the average is still well over 5%. (337/60 months is 5.6%)
That 3.8% over 5 years can't be correct.
But right now, their inflation rate is fairly modest.
BTW: these are the same data you used. Take an extra look.

(998 posts)It's a shit show there. Huge hikes for utilities and food. Subsidies for basic food items but that leads to shortages. Pensioners and low-income people are suffering, in spite of pension increases. Not enough.
I would say 25% is not far off, for sure for food and utilities.

Were he running America, there'd be Mad Max-style mayhem and riots by now.

(1,073 posts)All the MAGATS thinking autocracy is OK need to understand they are voting for the end of gun rights.
They're ok with Putin invading Ukraine, reporters and oligarchs falling out of windows, imprisoning dissenters, but tell them they can't own a gun anymore, and maybe they'll wake up.

(6,617 posts)While democracy may seem to take longer to get results, it's because it is committed to the rights and well being of it's citizens. A fascist dictatorship does none of those things and that is what Donald Dump has promised his ignorant moron voters.
