Sitting in the airport in Tennessee...

The woman next to me just said that if DC got statehood, all of the foreigners would become citizens...

The temptation to correct her is high. It's very true that DC is DEEP BLUE...

Oh goodness. Now she has said that if we keep funding Ukraine, Putin will drop a nuke on DC...

And then she said that might not be a bad thing...

I can't wait to get out of here.

I am not surprised by those ignorant statements. I had to stop hanging out with some of my Republican friends due to their stupidity. I know they are not uneducated people but they watch right wing news shows. They are all against giving aide to Ukraine . One thinks the democrats are gong to ban the Bible being read. A lot think Biden is taking orders from Obama and Michelle will be the dem presidential nominee .

reported that the FINE PRINT on the sale of the gold shoes states that it is not guaranteed WHEN or even IF the shoes would EVER BE SHIPPED - !

I almost posted about it last night - I should have - because none of us would EVER feel a need to read that fine print.

Spent most of my early adulthood there. It didn't use to be this way. Though never a bastion of liberalism, the TN of Ned McWherter and Howard Baker was known for middle of the road, good sense. Not any more.

Bush was the beginning and Trump sealed the deal for democrats in Tennessee. Guns are a big issue here. Everybody has one or 3 and are proud to wear them in public.

They are also ignorant of the total effects of the bomb in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Beyond those 2 bombs, modern bombs are ten to 1,000 times more powerful.

But they are really anti-American. I started to write more, but it would be an hour outpouring emotions and editing it to get it just right. Sigh.

I ask them to stop. If they don't stop, I ask them who told them stupid things like that.

It wrong foots them, puts the blame on someone else (which is where it belongs, after all). They often have to reboot, during wich time I can change my seat in the hope of finding someone sane or at least silent.

Condolences, BTW. Tennessee has even more crazy fundagelical preachers than Texas does.

This is where sweet little old lady (like me, f'rinstance) would sidle the walker right up next to her in order to whisper, "Did it hurt?" And when she asked, "Did what hurt?" the answer would be, "The lobotomy, of course!"
