or we would have pressed her for more info. After she died we found out she was not joking. A missed opportunity indeed!

I ran into a friend from Kindergarten when she was 21 and she told me her dad (a doctor and Italian) had her boyfriend's knee caps broken after he raped her. My aunt also mentioned this method of justice.

to contemplate just what life would be like if only that contract were created and executed. Just imagine an America where donnie no longer exists. All the trials, poof! gone! The defendant is dead. The fears of him cheating his way into the WH, poof! Gone! The headlines about him, the videos of his stupid face and stupid voice would peter out over time. His cult members would find someone else to deify, and no matter who they chose, it would not be as bad as he has been. He would just be gone. The air would be cleaner, the birds would chirp with new songs, rainbows would fill the sky. Oh, sorry, I got carried away with the fantasy.

after 78 years I have learned never to say or even to think "things can't get worse," or this can't get worse. It always can. What if they transferred their affections to Roger Stone? Or Lindsay Graham?

I think that would work against them when it came to Stone. Roger Stone strikes me as sly. He also seems like someone who would dismiss them rather than pander to them. He wouldn't need them, or want them. He can be a monster all on his own. I could be terribly wrong on that. As for Lindsey? Bring in the fainting couch. Lindsey is a born ass-kissing follower. He couldn't lead a baby duck. Donnie's crew would give him the vapors. Again, my opinion. I am a kid at 72, but I still believe the world would be better off if Donnie was dead.

call/email Clarence and tell him to eat shit - like he did with that corrupt coal baron and the actor in the squirrel costume.

Clarence has way more than $1 million/year value to his right wing sponsors. But, it would be nice for him to get a taste of how poorly history will judge him while he's still alive.

Then Oliver will buy him a $2.4M RV and will give him $1M/yr until Thomas dies.

Thomas is 75. I can't see him living longer than 5 more years. According to the Internet, John Oliver makes $8M/yr at HBO. If Oliver can stay on at HBO for a few more years, he'll have more than enough to cover this.

Of course Thomas would never take this, even though Oliver would honor it. Thomas probably sees this as a stunt designed to make him look foolish and undignified if he took it.

It's a comedy bit, and a political statement, and aspirational offer that - if it worked - would take the most toxic, corrupt member off of the SCOTUS without impeachment, retirement or death.

Also, it's like waving a red cape in front of a bull to see what happens.

That’s what happens if the offer is accepted.

Let’s say Thomas lives 20 years…that’s $20 million. ˜$16 million cash now.
Plus a $2 million motor coach.
That’s $18 million.

Right wingers have bribed Thomas tens of millions, plus a quid pro quo of favorable rulings worth billion$.

John’s offer is peanuts compared to MAGAts. 😠

so he might actually accept it. He's been a Supreme Court judge longer than some DUers and congresspeople have been alive.

It's shameful that this is what it might take to remove corrupt judges. Clarence shook down billionaire donors for more money by threatening to retire like 20 years ago. Why is this acceptable in America?

that what he was offering was not illegal. I'm sure their legal group spent the show's holiday break scouring every volume of their library for reasons why he couldn't do it and they couldn't come up with anything.

All credit to him. I thought it would be hard to top his interference in the NZ bird contest but it didn't take him long to easily top that.
