Thanks, sheshe2.
Edited to add:
I submitted a complaint. Took a few minutes to figure out how to do so. Scroll to bottom and select Help Center, then select Trust and Safety. One question that had fixed response didnt really fit, so I selected fundraiser included false info. Then there was a free form place to add it was a violation of Terms of Service.

Let them donate money to pay fines. The more they donate for his fines the less they can donate to his campaign.
Also, the section you quoted doesn't address paying fines. It says "legal defense." Not the same thing.

(21,730 posts)it is splitting hairs but seems like not the same thing to me. though i would VERY MUCH like for gofundme to put out a statement to all the people issuing complaints to unequiviqually (sp?) clarify that one way or the other.

(2,884 posts)I worry she could turn herself into a "middle" candidate... especially with all this emphasis on age.
But the first female president of the United States is a position rightfully belonging to a Democratic woman. We're the only ones who have supported women in all their very, varied roles... and tried to help support them to reach further than their dreams. The ultimate in degradation to me would be to see a female Republican take that role. of course, there will always be a man behind the throne for her. R men don't trust their women... certainly not one of color. She would only be a placeholder and figurehead. The real power would come from which ever men are closest to the oval office. JMO.
At this point, I don't think she has a real chance at election. I think they'd rather elect RFK than Haley... just because she IS a woman and a WOC.

(2,819 posts)* they'll never reach any meaningful amount. (Symbolic of their stupidity, I guess.)
As of right now (11:40AM 02-17-24) they have a grand total of $53,977.
That's 0.000152048% (rounded up to 0.0002%) of what he needs.
WHEN does Trump need to come up with the money? Immediately, before appeals? Or does the appeals-process mean that he can delay paying anything?
My question is how will the donors know that the money will be used for LEGAL purposes? Trump can't even pay his lawyers now, and if he plans on appealing, he'll need money to continue to pay.
Who has control of the money raised? Is it going to be released if the goal isn't met? Who will be the payee? (ie: directly to the clerk or the courts/state-of-NY? Or directly to Trump, relying on his honesty to pay the penalties?)

On the bright side - it won't even pay interest on the fine.
"It's notable that it has raised less than $0.5m in three days. That won't even cover the interest he owes. While any decision on whether he has to pay up could well be held up in the appeals process is Trump's lawyers can find sufficient reason to persuade the judiciary to return his cases to courtby no means a givenhe will still have to deposit much of what he owes in escrow.
