Fani Willis is a strong, independent, articulate, successful and powerful Black woman who knows exactly who she is, what she wants, and what she is worth, and THAT is why she scares the everloving fuck out of Republicans.

(22,974 posts)In the beginning I thought it was a bad move when they dragged her down into the muddy details, but the more she spoke, the more believable she became.
I trust judge MacAfee to do the right thing.
Keep doing what you're doing Fani. An exoneration by this judge may help Fani if Georgia GQP state Magats try to remove her with their new law.

(15,896 posts)Outside of pure physical lust that is.
We cheat on our wives, we lie to our friends, hell, we aren't even honest with ourselves. Plus, we start all the wars.
If I were a woman, I'd strongly consider being a lesbian, or at least bi.
Men, yuck.

(12,379 posts)Well, not 100%, because somebody suffered because of an asshole. But when she hears about a guy who cheats, hides money, blows money foolishly, never listens, never contributes to household upkeep, has a secret family, claps on one and three, etc., that makes my day, because they make me look like the hot guy on Virgin River by comparison.

(11,134 posts)This was stunning, strong, on-the-mark. I'm betting most women were cheering while being disgusted by this obvious hit-job on a effective prosecutor, a black woman who was not about to take a bunch of nonsense from these Trump-Hump lawyers.
I didn't get to see all of it. But what I did see? Wow, just wow.

(2,286 posts)This is bad optics for the serial rapist, porn star paying off, lying man who claims he does his idiot mistakes on purpose. Going after the prosecuting attorney in this manner is making her a hero. Even if they manage to get her thrown off the case, maybe especially if they get her thrown off the case, it's gonna hurt them. Put simply, I am ready to vote for Fani. This old southern white boy is pretty sure she will fight for justice wherever she lands.
This set of attacks is only going to play well with TFG's already indoctrinated haters.

(7,439 posts)I spoke with years ago - who was (and even knowing just part of her history I would say justifiably) about how useless men are, and how she wouldn't want one around the house, ever, under any circumstances. At one point I meekly offered that I might consider having one as a pet, and she responded with strength, "I wouldn't even have one as a pet!"

(1,221 posts)I get ethics, but why is it unethical to have relationships and why is it prejudices to Trump case?
Its not like she is producing charges to put him away, she filed charges to put him away because a grand jury found he may violated the law.
We are all human and we live in a capitalism society. Are they wanting the counsel to be staring for money to try Trump? Nonsense!
Law is the law and she has the right to have relationships, she just cant have a relationship with the defendant; which i seriously doubt that will ever happened....

(85,185 posts)It reeks of tfg's desperation. This is pitiful to put it nicely.
This is a bench trial and I don't see the judge ruling for the prosecution's unwarranted charges,

(4,738 posts)It was last scheduled for late August 2024, and Willis said days later it might be 2025.
But, yeah, the judge probably could have handled this differently. Felt for both of them.

A man is not a plan..a man is a companion. I would not get anything via a man and never have.
When I was married we split the bills down the middle. My ex husband is great and supportive to this day because he is basically a feminist himself.

(9,680 posts)Once the cat was out of the bag that she and Wade had had a relationship, it was a given that the defense side would leverage it to something tawdry and salacious. It had to be brought to the surface or the Trumpees would have claimed conspiracy even if the facts didn't warrant it.
I think Judge McAfee wanted to preserve a record that would withstand an appeal, and will rule in Fani's favor and put the trial back on the track it belongs on.
Anything else would be a major miscarriage of justice.

(7,439 posts)appears to be a black thing. At least so say two black news outlets that I read. Their daddies advise tham to put together a substantial amount of money for themselves and keep it for themselves. One of the two outlets even printed a list of celebrity black women who chimed in that they have one because their daddy told them to.
(I'm whte, and my daddy didn't tell me to, but he died when I was still post-natally in the hospital, so he has an excuse.)
