I apologize. I seldom look to see if I have been sent an

email in DU. I now see that there have been several emails and I pledge to respond to each of them. I get so engrossed in going down all of the categories that I haven’t noticed the emails. I’ll kick myself around the room a few times and be more cognisant in the future. I’m not the stuck up prick that I have appeared to be - at least that’s what I tell myself.

1. I find it annoying when I get banner size yellow announcement.

I have to clear them immediately

Now posts are a different thing altogether. Especially, responses I get the following day after I've made some dumb comments on threads the evening before. Gotta face the music, good or bad.

2. I solved that problem - for a while. I put tape over that part of my screen where the yellow announcement appears.

Worked until I logged on to a new computer and they came back. I could no longer figure out how to get rid of them but I started seeing things on other sites that were missing. Now I use two computers - one for D.U. and one for everything else.

Now on one computer, it still blocks part of those other sites and on the other computer, I keep getting the yellow announcement.

I just put in a call to the Geek Squad for help. They're sending a tech out. Hope he can fix it.

3. My psychological problem with alerts on DU.

I equate yellow with CAUTION. I hesitate to click.....
