(95,729 posts)Too many among our leadership seem to think there really is some great scorer in the sky, who asks not did you win or lose, but how you play the game. There isn't, and down here nobody much cares either. Who wields power, and who does not, is all that matters.

(80 posts)The colossal rake-stomp in Congress yesterday has been shoved out of the news cycle. Instead its dogpile on Biden, with no mention of how utterly inappropriate it was for Hur to make those remarks.

(31,625 posts)I do not understand why he is still in that position.
Not to mention that the ridiculous two year delay in appointing the special council will be why Trump skates on everything.
Or as Dean Obeidallah points out Cori Bush is investigated but Jim Jordan and others are not investigated for being 100% involved in an insurrection.

(39,243 posts)...things that are "too political" are busy making careers out of being political. That doesn't explain why he's still in that position, but it also DOES.

(1,409 posts)Garland is the kind of guy who would pick a name out of a hat? It's a genuine question, I don't know enough about Merrick Garland to have a feel for this. Why would he orchestrate a hitjob?

(39,243 posts)Pretty sure he knows who he picked.

(22,987 posts)maybe I shouldn't tell you this but, the special counsel, Weiss, who indicted Hunter Biden, was also appointed a US Marshall by Trump.
Also, remember when Trump fired Comey? Magat Senator Mike Lee went to Trump and recommended that Trump replace Comey with, hmm, um, er, Merrick Garland.

(10,133 posts)Lee wanted Garland out of the DC Court of Appeals, for Trump to appoint a conservative judge there. Got nowhere with that.
Maddening!

(10,133 posts)When a Republican exonerates Biden (the eventual outcome which I suspect Garland was expecting regardless of the SC's political affiliation), the SC's decision leaves no possibility of doubt, even among Biden's staunchest detractors. All they are left to drool over is a supposed SC's remark about Biden's age, which, upon elementary examination, turns out to not be the SC's remark about Biden's age.

(26,464 posts)We've chosen to fixate on the petty nonsense tacked on to the report instead of the big picture, which is that a Republican SC not only did not find anything to charge but clearly detailed why President Biden was not charged and Trump was.
We're missing the forest for the moss growing under one rock.
The Magistrate
(95,729 posts)He'll be just one more RINO Deep State operative whose disloyalty to MAGA is unmasked by refusal to charge the obviously guilty old crooked Joe with all the crimes he committed.

(31,625 posts)Isnt there a federalist Society connection to Merrick Garland?

(7,608 posts)This article is 8 years old but outlines his involvement with that group.

This is beyond the pale.
Just as the national media is coming around to considering Trump's obvious cognitive decline, out comes this POS.
AG Garland is now the second to allow unqualified, musing opinions to be released in what should be purely a factual document.
Unforgivable.
