9. A couple ways...

I've had several chubby foster dogs that needed to lose a few. For some, it was just a matter of replacing up to half their food with green beans. (I buy the frozen beans and thaw a couple of means worth at a time in the fridge.) That works for most but one of them would. not. eat. green. beans.

She got Natural Balance "Fat Dogs". It has the same lower calories as prescription diets like Metabolic but is available at Petsmart, Amazon, etc. and is about half the price. It works. My current chubby girl - who the vet said is kind of square - has lost about 2 pounds, from ~18 to 16. I also add some chicken broth to it just to make it taste better, maybe. No problem getting her to eat this.
