The Gen Z gender gap is widening, and the influence of manosphere podcasters can't be ignored

https://www.businessinsider.com/manosphere-widening-ideological-gap-between-young-men-women-gender-genz-2024-2

Gen Z are increasingly getting further apart in their ideological opinions, polls keep showing.

While women aged 18 and 29 have gotten more liberal in their beliefs every year, young men haven't and are less likely to care about political issues or participate in protests, according to an analysis by Daniel Cox, the director of the Survey Center on American Life.

Half of young men also believe they face some kind of discrimination, and less than half identify as feminists. Only half support the #MeToo movement, compared to nearly three-quarters of women.

Sharing the data, journalist and lawyer Imani Gandy commented on the pattern, saying: "YouTube algorithms are turning young men into sociopaths."

Even my 13 yr old daughter says she hears boys idolizing Andrew Tate in her middle school 🤮🤮🤮

There are going to be a lot of lonely, angry young men out there with no dating prospects, but lots of access to guns. I weep for those poor brainwashed boys.

….get degrees, demand top dollar for jobs, never marry and forego having kids. Until/unless the toxic masculinity subsides. And if it doesn’t, oh well. No self-respecting female ought to tolerate their MRA BS.

This may be an unpopular view. Whatever. There was a time when men like Sam Keen represented an emerging men's movement of some sort. He was like the polar opposite of Robert Bly and said things that still strike me as wise. Examples:

“There are two questions a man must ask himself: The first is 'Where am I going?' and the second is 'Who will go with me?' If you ever get these questions in the wrong order you are in trouble.”

“Burnout is nature's way of telling you, you've been going through the motions your soul has departed; you're a zombie, a member of the walking dead, a sleepwalker. False optimism is like administrating stimulants to an exhausted nervous system.”

“The root of humanly caused evil is not man's animal nature, not territorial aggression, or innate selfishness, but our need to gain self-esteem, deny our mortality, and achieve a heroic self-image. Our desire for the best is the cause of the worst.”
― Sam Keen

Hopefully some of these young guys come across thinkers who argued that men's rights was a matter of personal growth and maturity.

That's one of my worst fears, having raised a strong, intelligent daughter that's sure to trigger unsecure man-boys.

As it is, these “alpha male type” websites are turning out a generation of boys who are shallow and narcissistic, insensitive and incapable of meaningful ideas or discussion. What a backsliding waste.

are simply not as noisy and exhibitionist as these Tate-r-Tots. There's plenty of them around - they're the ones with all the friends having a decent life.

And women need to be training in martial arts from girlhood - there is NO reason for most women to be so physically weak. Protect yourself and your sisters.

“There are two questions a man must ask himself: The first is 'Where am I going?' and the second is 'Who will go with me?' If you ever get these questions in the wrong order you are in trouble.”

That's good advice I heard as a young woman years ago.
