He goes into the court and makes a commotion by talking as witnesses are cross-examined and so forth. He makes a scene going in and coming out, by commenting to reporters and searching for the cameras.
Then, whenever he takes the notion, he simply gets up and walks out of the courtroom during the prosecution's argument. The Judge asks that the record note that Trump has left the courtroom. But, there is no punishment from the Court.
Perhaps the jury noted the actions of the scofflaw as he thumbs his nose at all law and authority?
Perhaps that had something to do with the punitive damages they laid on Mr Trump?

(419 posts)his way of doing what Hunter Biden did to the committee, when he walked out when Marjorie started to speak. IMO
Hunter's action was regarded as a great move on his part. TFG thought he would get the same response, but he didn't lol.

Also, despite his past, Hunter Biden has a respect for the rule of law and the Legal System.

(419 posts)of the proceedings that were going on. I also feel Hunter is being used to try and get at President Biden. The Biden family is an inspiration of what it means to love unconditionally and to fight for what is right.
The republican hypocrisy and projection is astounding. I am amazed at how much the right is always the victim but also the strong patriot of white days gone by.
Hillary was right!

MTG makes stuff up and shows pictures of genitals for sensational effect. She doesn't deserve to be heard
Trump defies the court because he's a crybaby while Hunter has accepted responsibility for his actions in a way Trump never will.

(15,909 posts)And unfortunately, our legal system and too many people in that system are inclined to let him.
In the vaunted name of "due process" too many exploitable loopholes are left open. Too many people working in the legal system are inclined, consciously or not, to give people with money and power preferentially treatment.

But they allow Trump to act in a lawless, privileged and entitled way.

I have my doubts about whether he will ever be prosecuted for his crimes. It doesn't seem the court system has the stomach for it.

(10,703 posts)When Trump was ordered to pay E Jean Carroll $5 million for sexual abuse and defamation, they set the standard. The going rate for making Trump accountable for his sexual abuse was $5 million. This jury gave him $83 million.
That's a huge increase. If they had gone much higher, it might have been overturned on appeal. But $83 million is not $130 million. If they would have gone that high, the courts may have seen it as excessive considering the standard was $5 million. The jury had to consider this.
But they could have gone to $10 or $20 million and it still would have been quite an increase from $5 million. It would have been well above the standard. So, yeah the jury noticed the crap he pulled and that's why it was so much higher than last time. The jury noticed.
