By Matthew Chapman
The $83.3 million jury verdict against former President Donald Trump in the E. Jean Carroll defamation trial is a watershed moment, according to Mary Trump's Substack sent to Raw Story via email because now he faces a concrete consequence for his wrongdoing.
"I know Donald, and rage one of the few emotions in his arsenal is not a strong enough word to describe what hes feeling," said Mary Trump, the former president's niece and a psychologist by trade. "Donald is someone who has gone his entire life without facing consequences - and I believe he thinks he can get away with everything. Today, that changed. It was one of the first times Donald has been made to answer for his egregious behavior."

"The E. Jean Carroll verdict is so important. Not only because E. Jean, supported the whole way by her extraordinary legal team led by the brilliant Robbie Kaplan, deserved justice and got it but because it gives me hope that the dam is beginning to break and Donald is finally facing the consequences of his actions," Mary Trump wrote. "Lets celebrate, but lets make sure that this is simply the first of many moments in which Donald is forced to face the consequences of his actions."
"I have no doubt there are many other of Donalds victims out there and E. Jean Carroll, because of her courage and resolve, has been the leading edge of this fight," she concluded. "Lets get news of her victory to all corners of the country so other women can be inspired to come forward."

And no matter what happens in the election, he can't overturn this verdict or pardon himself.

You should have had more of a sense of humor at that White House correspondents' dinner. Your criminal enterprise would still be in operation. Your cheesy show would probably still be on the air. The Me Too movement may not have emerged, so you probably would have gotten away with raping E Jean Carroll.
But listen up donny, things can and will get worse for you. Your next set of courtroom losses will not be settled by dollar amounts. They will involve prison cells.
It's time for you to bow out gracefully and leave this country alone. You clearly hate the US and its inhabitants, so you can go to Russia, Hungary, Turkey, North Korea... Hell, maybe Scotland will take you in. I don't care where you go, just leave, and shut up.

(205 posts)In an alternate parallel universe Donald Trump is a billionaire philanthropist that spends much of his wealth rejuvenating run-down communities in cities across the country with new housing. He builds free universities to teach students how best to serve the public. He lives in a small middle-class apartment. He spends no money on himself or his family who buy their clothes at local thrift shops. He finds new ways of using his income from his middle-class resorts to benefit the poor. He builds shelters for women. He builds some of the best health clinics in the world open to everyone. The public loves him and asks if he would ever run for president, to which he replies, "no that is a job best left to politicians."
But that of course, is an alternate reality.

(205 posts)He would've set a good example for his children who would grown up helping, building and donating to that children's cancer fund and also became upstanding members of Habitat for Humanity, knowing their reputation would follow them after their lifetimes...

(70,886 posts)The whole Trump gang has needed to be in prison and paying financial penalties too
for years now.
Mother fuckers would hire contractors and not pay them and that would ruin their lives.
Donny learned on how to be a real shit from his #1 lawyer Roy Cohn, mob attorney.
I hope these days are agony for Donny, his family, and all the people who decided to
cast their lot getting onto the Trump Train
. Biggest crook in American History.

While it's tempting to invite alternate reality Trump over to give seminars in this reality, it might scar him for life. Of course, he's smart enough to know it and politely decline the invitation. .Meanwhile, here in universe #2...
