When I had mine, years ago, in surgery if they found any evidence the cancer had spread beyond the walls of the prostate, they would simply leave it in place and refer the patient for later radiation therapy. Since he is still in hospital, it looks like the prostatectomy did take place and the prognosis is therefore very favourable.

(35,143 posts)What matters was the secondary admission, and whether the policy required to - and whether he was capable of - notifying people in his chain of command. That could have been addressed without disclosing anything about his private medical conditions.
