Will they crawl back under their rocks? Will they look for a new Leader? Unless Trump is in prison, or has met his due reward, he will still be preaching violence and chaos. There will be no peace in our country.

If they win, then what?

Elected Republicans have shown every indication that they will do his bidding, whatever he wishes. If Trump wins and takes back the White House, what would that mean?

Would it mean that our Justice System has failed? That our electoral system has failed? That our media and "free press" has failed?

How much damage could be done if Trump is permitted back in power?

So many countries have suffered thru dictators and despots, and most survive the turmoil. I would say Russia will too, someday. Not today, not tomorrow. Same with China, Iran, and North Korea. Nothing lasts forever, including Trump. If he somehow gets back into the Oval, and I doubt that he will, it will be ugly. I'm pretty damn old now. If that happens, I will gladly give up my life to fight for what is right, but we are not near that point now.

5. Trump losing in 2024 really won't be all that different from him losing in 2020.

His cult will be pissing and moaning, making vague threats and other assorted abhorrent behavior, similar to what they're doing now.

The talk of something like a civil war is ludicrously overblown. If something on that kind of scale was going to happen, it would have happened after January 6th. Instead, people like the Proud Boys are cowering in the dark hoping that civilians or the FBI don't ID them as insurrectionists. About the only good thing about January 6th is that it brought a dose of realty to these dopes, and potential consequences (which they previously thought didn't exist) scared a lot of them off.

2024 isn't going to be some kind of epiphany for these people. Same shit, different election.
