If you don't have twitter: She asks voters from all over the country to come caucus in Iowa - which only Iowa voters can participate in.
Yikes.

(16,675 posts)I'm sure that Lady Macbeth...err, Casey DeSantis...doesn't give a rat's ass what's legal in Iowa and what isn't.
I really hope people don't take her advice, though, because it could only lead to trouble. I could just see the non Iowans getting mad when they aren't allowed in, and logjams forming when legitimate Iowa voters can't get past them. And the angry Trump cultists beating up the non Iowan trouble makers for getting in their way, etc.
On second thought, I doubt that Ronnie D has enough supporters to create that much of a problem. Still, I wouldn't want to be one of the people trying to get voters signed in at any of those caucuses. Yikes!

(1,336 posts)I assume you take exception to the term bimbo, which Wikipedia defines as follows: Bimbo is slang for a conventionally attractive, sexualized, naive, and unintelligent woman.[1] The term was originally used in the United States as early as 1919 for an unintelligent or brutish man.[2] Respectfully, I do not consider the word bimbo a sexist term. Moreover, that term perfectly describes the vacuous Fox woman who was interviewing Casey DeSantis. Ive been a feminist for over 50 years, and Ive experienced the worst misogyny you can imagine. I know sexism when I see it.
Personally, I cant get exercised over the current fixation on using the correct term to refer to people of different sexes, ethnicities, sexual preferences, etc. I do my best to try to reflect current usage, but I honestly dont care. I think it is a distraction from issues of far greater importance - like actual sexism, racism, and LBGTQ hatred.

(40,248 posts)You will be 18 years old by Nov. 5, 2024. That means if you're 17 and turn 18 between the date of the caucuses and the general election, you can caucus.
You must be registered as a Democrat or Republican. If you're registered under a third party or no party, you won't be able to caucus
Casey DeSantis should be arrested right now for encouraging people to commit voter fraud.

(827 posts)Stay absolutely silent on this before the caucus. If hundreds of out-of-state voters try to go to the GOP caucus sites, then call every reporter they know and point out the blatant attempt at voter fraud.

Well, the jokes on DeSantis, he could urge all his followers to go to Iowa to caucus AND HE'D F-ING STILL LOOSE!
P.S. Do yourself (and your wife) a favor, drop out and slink back into the hole you crawled out of before the Orange fiend wipes your sorry a-- in the FL primary.

(744 posts)The caucuses still have to abide by state law.
There's flexibility in how parties can run their caucuses but that doesn't mean they can make up any law they want (like allow for 10 year olds to vote - or non-citizens).
You can read about it here:
https://www.legis.iowa.gov/docs/publications/LGI/90/attachments/HF716.html
State law stipulates that a voter at the caucus must be a resident of their precinct.
