Most Americans support gun control legislation.
Most Americans support the rights of LGBTQ people to live as they choose.
Most Americans want a president who defends democracy.

I had the opportunity to pep talk some sometimes voters and to emphasize the gravity of the need for them to vote I finished with, "You only have one thing to do, vote. One thing. Just one thing, vote."

They seemed to understand what's at stake.

to register and vote the last two elections, I'm trying to nurture them so they'll do it again.

4. I like to appeal to their pocketbook. Seems to work better than the "civic duty" style pitches.

"You're already paying for the equipment with your taxes, why not go vote and use what you paid for?"

5. Unfortunately most Americans do not decide

If only popular vote were the thing a d gerrymandering wasn’t legal.
