Steve Balich said the Will County Tea Party movement he helped organize is disbanding in name, but not spirit, after gains by Democrats in the Nov. 6 election.
Were actually terminating it and calling ourselves fiscal Republicans, Balich said of the local Tea Party, which took off in 2008 and sprouted branches in Joliet, Plainfield, New Lenox and Homer Township-Lockport.
Balich, of Homer Glen, blamed the movements demise on the media, which he said demonized the national Tea Party over social issues.
People think of it as bad, but our message was just about fiscal conservatism, he said.

(14,256 posts)Any group espousing fiscal conservatism would be taken seriously, but when they seek to enact radical SOCIAL EXTREMISM, yeah it's time to rebrand.
Good luck with that rebranding. The GOP is on a similar quest. Maybe the Tea Baggers and the GOP could get together and maybe call themselves a FAD (Fascist Arrogant Demagogues).

TOO LATE, ASSHOLES! Everyone knows who you really are, and what you really stand for. Where the fuck was your "fiscal conservatism" when Bush and the Republicans were cutting taxes and borrowing and spending us into oblivion? Oh, right, you were cheering them on every step of the way! Fucking hypocrites. Everyone is on to your bullshit. You'll be known as TEABAGGERS until the end of time!
