It is allowing you to see things in shades of gray, rather than presenting them to you only in black or white, which is necessary for delivering sweeping pronouncements at DU.

And good morning.

I don't see the relationship.
The US was a foreign invader. We didn't really belong there. Neither did the Soviets, but that makes both countries interlopers in someone else's country.
Israel actually belongs there by international agreement 75 years ago.
All that said, I still question the absolutism of the OP.

I am referring to the nature of Israel's current operations in Gaza not the legitimacy of their operations. Hamas is not like Nazi Germany or Imperial Japan. It's a terrorist organization that has a base of support within Gaza and a good deal of political sway in Gaza. Unlike Germany and Japan it cannot carry out sustained high-intensity military operations outside the borders of Gaza. Neither could the Vietcong. That is why Hamas engages in low-intensity targeted attacks, like the Oct. 7 attack. It simply does not pose the same level of threat to Israel that the Germans posed to their neighbors in the late 1930s and early 1940s. This is not to say that Israel shouldn't be fighting this fight. They have a just cause for attacking Hamas.

I think that comparison to WWII are not very helpful unless a person wants to justify "nuking" Gaza.

I have always appreciated it and don't remember where I read it. I used to struggle through some of Nietzshe's better-known books back before I started grad school and had to turn my attention to my own discipline. Now I read historical fiction to pass the time.

Only Russia and humas are evil and doing wrong. The Ukrainians and Israeli’s are doing very good defending themselves.

My grandfather personally helped bring hell on Earth to the Germans in 1943-44.

He has his faults, like all of us, and suffered the PTSD from it for the rest of his life, but was most definitely a good entity in my eyes for what he did then.
