I have a feeling that rain records are being broken here in Jamaica in the past

24 fours. I have never seen more sustained rain falling for this long or this heavy. Looks like it will come to an end in a few hours but this will be a major economic and societal disaster.
I expect massive destruction of vulnerable homes, massive land slides and homes sliding into gullies. There will be loss of life.

I cannot imagine what this is doing to Haiti as I type because we have way better infra structure.
I cannot imagine what would have happened if this had hurricane speed winds with all this rain.
Bravo to the folks who saw this coming a week ago.
Climate change is effin real.

But that ‘s not true for many folks here and in Haiti.

They had to rescue folks with helicopters last night.

countries in need. Over the years, we've developed some solid contacts and gotten a lot of stuff into Haiti. Last year or so, nothing. We can get things into Venezuela easier. And there is next to nothing in the news about it.

South Florida is also cleaning up after serious flooding. This is a global mess.
This system leaving the Caribbean will do some serious damage across the pond.

in Central Florida to experience this long of a rain event.
Typically we would be a month Into our dry season, receiving brief showers as cold fronts advance.
