We have had a lot of very harsh disagreements lately over differences of opinions on Israel/Palestine and I am cross-posting this video found originally here: https://democraticunderground.com/13222626 because I feel that the inarguable points presented (humor aside) might give us all a starting point for some unity in these difficult conversations.

Yes, Oliver's information is key to establishing an agreed upon set of facts for judging who should live or die when
a) conflating the leaders with their people as a monolith, and
b) downplaying the suffering of innocents to use them as "assets" when promoting one's own side.
Knowing this --
"We are doomed to live here together and we have to choose whether to share this land or to share the graveyard under it." --
We as allies must expedite their decision that both people's descendants live in a peaceful two-state future. Just my opinion.

But based on my experience with other topics, I think Oliver, while frequently funny and incisive, often oversimplifies complicated issues to make his viewpoint seem unassailably correct. I hope he didn't do that here.
