Wonder Why

Muslims say "No ceasefire in Gaza, no votes for Biden". Not so bright of them.

Reuters today:

No ceasefire in Gaza, no votes, Muslim Americans tell Biden

Really bright. Who are the first immigrants that will suffer if Muslims withhold support for Democrats and Trump wins? Nothing like cutting off your nose to spite your face! Do they really think that Trump or any Repugs will stop Israel from doing what is doing now just to please Muslims? Fat chance of that!

exactly how do they think he has the power to achieve that?
Israel may listen to sound advice from the United States, but it isn’t going to allow Hamas to benefit from a ceasefire. And the U.S. isn’t going to ask because frankly the destruction of Hamas benefits the United States.

You know, the guys posting crusader memes and who want to turn Gaza into a parking lot I honestly think the Israelis have shown some decent restraint after what happened. Russia would have just rolled up the artillery and kept firing till there was nothing left of Gaza.

Israel is an important ally in the Middle East. The United States benefits greatly from its relationship with Israel. Biden is not going to turn around on a dime and tell Israel "Do what I want." That is not how international relations are conducted.

revolution and think everything's about money believe. The ones who for years and years accused Democrats of being corrupt because they received campaign contributions from people with jobs -- that this meant they "took" money from Wall Street and corporations and had to do whatever they wanted -- the dreaded "corporate Dems." All a big fantasy conspiracy.

probably a wash for them. Trump would cut off aid to Israel, but he would also impose a travel ban on muslims.

But with his ties to Saudi Arabia via Kushner, who knows what f-ery would go on

Muslims make up about 1.3% of the US population. Are they all going to vote for Cornel West, Bobby Jr or Trump? How many people do Tlaib and friends influence?

"Muslim Americans and some Democratic Party activists say they will work to mobilize millions of Muslim voters to withhold donations and votes towards President Joe Biden's 2024 reelection unless he takes immediate steps to secure a Gaza ceasefire."

Should have written "Some Muslim Americans and some Democratic Americans..."

Muslims leaders are currently trying to exert political pressure to save innocent Muslim lives in Gaza. That is to be expected.

In 2019 on the campaign trail Biden promised during his term not get the US involved in any long term wars. This conflict can easily still turn into a long term war within the ME.

I fear a war would be a cripple to Biden's reelection chances. A large majority of voters don't want to US to be involved in a war, in fact a large number don't even want us to be involved in a military conflict.

It will be the American independent voter that determines 2024.

If this is all they care about--a toothless command from Joe Biden to dictate to another country how they must stop defending themselves in order to curry favor with American Muslims--then I guess nothing else about the US matters. Fuck them. Live under Trump and the GOP. Progressives and Democrats (on edit, including Jewish progressives) have always, always stood up for Muslims, warned about Islamaphobia, called out the US for our unnecessary war in Iraq, cautioned about retribution against Muslims whenever we suffered an Islamic terror attack--and this is the result? Biden's not ready to abandon Israel and they're mad? Yep, fuck 'em. We're all fucked then.

The GOP in general and Trump specifically will treat all Muslims so much better.

And just as an aside: When was Joe Biden elected Israel's Prime Minister? Or is the man who's criticized as a
doddering old man actually the Master of the Universe?

Good to know.
