When I met Mitt's mother in 1970

It was at the Michigan State Fair when this lady came up to and introduced herself. "Hello, I'm Lenore Romney and I'm running for the Senate".
I was taken back a little but did ask if she would be in favor of legalizing pot. Two men stepped in-between us and hurried her away.

It would have happened here in Kansas as well but would have been followed up with a visit to the infamous Vern Miller and a court date.

aged of those times. Here in Michigan, John Sinclair had been released from prison after his conviction of “10 for 2”, ten years in jail for two joints.
