Detroit synagogue president found fatally stabbed outside her home

A Detroit synagogue president was found fatally stabbed outside her home Saturday morning.

Samantha Woll, 40, led the congregation of Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue. The synagogue confirmed Woll's death Saturday in a statement, writing, “We are shocked and saddened to learn of the unexpected death of Samantha Woll, our Board President.”

“May her memory be a blessing,” the statement continued.

Authorities said a 911 caller early Saturday reported a person lying on the ground unresponsive at Woll’s home. Police discovered multiple stab wounds on Woll's body and found a trail of blood leading to her house, where they believe the crime occurred.

According to her LinkedIn profile, Woll worked as a Political Director for Attorney General Dana Nessel during her re-election campaign and worked as Deputy District Director for Rep. Elissa Slotkin for two years (2019-2021).

Detroit Police Chief James white urged people to remain patient as the investigation continues, and said DPD has mobilzed many resources and leveraged every law enforcement resource it has in the investigation.

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer also releasing a statement about Woll's death.

“My heart breaks for her family, her friends, her synagogue, and all those who were lucky enough to know her," Whitmer. said. "She was a source of light, a beacon in her community who worked hard to make Michigan a better place. Michigan State Police have been assigned to support the Detroit Police Department. Together, they will investigate this vicious crime and bring the perpetrator to justice."

As the police chief says, we need to wait and see who is responsible for this. Hard to believe this isn't related to everything happening in the Mid-East, and the constant stochastic terrorism from the gop...... but we don't know any facts yet. Wait and see.
