Hours after a federal judge imposed a narrow gag order on Donald Trump, the disgraced former president made two campaign speeches in Adel and Clive, Iowa. It was during his appearance in Clive that Donald Trump promised the MAGA audience that “what they don’t understand is that I am willing to go to jail if that’s what it takes for our country to win and become a democracy again.”

I have no problem with his going to jail -- "... if that’s what it takes for our country to win and become a democracy again.” -- All I ask is that he be sentenced to 25 years to life with no parole (and no phone).

(P.S. As I post this, the Gym Jordan vote is in process. Jordan and his ilk would be the legacy of a "jailed for life" Trump. And they could well destroy Democracy whether he is elected speaker or not.)

He's not "willing" to go to jail, but now he recognizes it's a real possibility this time.So, he's laying the groundwork to use it to advantage with his base, to get all fired up and elect people with one goal: freeing their "rightful president".

Trump is all about self-aggrandizement, and nothing is more self-aggrandizing than playing the martyr (especially without the dying part).
