Personally, I don't think it was mean at all.

Hayden's post set off a firestorm on the Right. At the time of this article, it received 3,534 mostly angry replies from the blue-check MAGA mafia. The replies mostly state that Hayden's post is a "death threat" against Tuberville.
No doubt, the former General and national security official has been irate at Tuberville holding up military promotions and diplomatic appointments over abortion policy.
The blockheaded old ball coach from Alabama decided that he wasn't going to stand for Hayden's Mean Tweet. Instead of confirming diplomats and military officers critically needed in the Middle East, Tuberville decided to file a criminal complaint against the former CIA Director.

(15,204 posts)Senator Tommy Tuberville was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2020 and is currently serving his first term representing Alabama. However, his constituents still know him as Coach Tuberville, following his 40-year career coaching college football.

This is an astounding story, Sessions said. Based on the facts already uncovered, it is clear that Tommy Tuberville was one of two partners in a major hedge fund fraud scheme that bilked large sums of money from hardworking people, including Alabamians.

(22,293 posts)what right do you have to impose these beliefs on others who have earned their promotions?
I would report you, to the Capitol Police instead, for inflicting harm to others that deserve their hard-earned promotions. Take out your personal beliefs in some other manner and don't inflict any more harm on our service men and women, who are putting their life in danger for ALL of us.

(1,134 posts)not his right to live. But I can see how they can twist it the way they want to see it. So, does Hayden have a bunch of thugs who follow him and commit violenced based on what he says, who he encourages even after they have done so?
These are distinctions too fine for the Magas. But amazing how serious they think death threats are, when they imagine to be on the receiving end.

(33,628 posts)IF the comment came from some deranged radical (a MAGAt, for example), it would need to be treated as a credible threat and investigated. General Hayden's history of service protecting our Constitution is very strong evidence that this was humor. Putin's puppet be damned.
