by far too many-- if it is even loosely linked to a "cause." I can only hope this is a limited phenomenon.

was the inspiration for the Tree of The Children in the Game of Thrones. Where the Three Eyed Raven practiced his magic. A lone tree near The Wall.

Something is wrong with our society today where people, often young men, think it is cool to go out and destroy something that nature has provided is.. like the destruction a number of years ago of natural bridges in the US. They make videos this and post it to the internet for views.

Without data. Just look at middle-aged and older GOP destroying the environment and any living thing in their path to support greed.

Destruction or attempted destruction of priceless relics, art, or natural symbols can not be defended. Period.

is a problem across the spectrum. Albeit, like science, historical knowledge may be increasingly diminished in importance with today's politics... (and not just in the US).

This is more comparable to that (grown) man, an Alabama fan, who poisoned historic trees on the Auburn campus. I find it senseless, to take away something that has so much meaning to so many.

I’ve reported this story before at DU but it seems appropriate to tell it again.

My brother received a phone call telling him that a tenant’s teenage son was attacking a tree.

My brother went to the property and stopped the kid from doing further damage.

The next day, a big branch from this damaged tree fell on the kid and killed him.

Note: as a kid, I can remember my brother and dad planting saplings around these rental properties.

That was a large, commercial saw used. I am surprised it was done by one person, and a kid at that.
