The Republican case against Biden takes a body blow ... from Fox News

There are two central arguments in the Republican effort to impeach President Biden, neither validated.

The first is that Joe Biden benefited financially from his son Hunter’s business efforts — that Hunter Biden’s leveraging of his last name to generate consulting contracts trickled up to his father. Investigations by House Republicans, particularly the Oversight Committee led by Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.) have failed to show any such connection, despite months of looking. Instead, this assertion relies on insinuations about Joe Biden making phone calls to his son — and depends on ignoring exculpatory evidence from Hunter Biden’s former business partner.

The other central attack on the president involves Hunter Biden’s work for the Ukrainian energy company Burisma. This relationship was adjudicated robustly during the first impeachment of President Donald Trump, a probe that centered on Trump’s desire to have the new Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, announce an investigation into the Bidens before the 2020 election.

Trump world’s belief that Joe Biden had sought the ouster of Ukraine’s prosecutor general, Viktor Shokin, to benefit Burisma and Hunter Biden was debunked in 2019. Perhaps in part because Fox News did its best to ignore the evidence in that impeachment inquiry, claims about the now-president trying to get Shokin fired back in 2015 and 2016 have been elevated again as though they retain validity.
They don’t — as Fox News unintentionally made clear over the weekend.

Plenty more good stuff at the link, you should read it. I'm sure this is the kind of thing that will be played if the repugs do try for impeachment. There are too many repugs that narrowly won seats where President Biden won. I don't think they are going to try and sling this sludge and I don't think they get close to enough votes to impeach.

There just ISN’T one.

Maybe that’s a signal of how rare such a politician is - where opponents simply cannot find evidence of any sneaking or chicanery or deceit of any sort, in anything he’s done or been part of. There just isn’t any. It’s just not how he rolls, or who he is.

Frankly, I can partially understand why his enemies keep looking. Even they can’t believe OR ACCEPT that there might actually be an unassailable, provably honest man in the Oval Office. One who isn’t conniving and looking for angles to profit for himself or lying about absolutely everything. No wonder they have a hard time believing or accepting that Joe Biden is that genuine, honest man that Biden fans know he is.

Show me a Republican who isn’t a some sort of unscrupulous conniving sneak, willing to lie (or stretch the truth) or stoop as low as presumably needed to win. I doubt there are very many of those. Maybe a handful. And a small handful at that.

All they care about is getting the word out that Biden MAY have done something. They don't care if it's true or not. They've got enough lemmings that will keep that churning no matter what. In the end, all they want is power (Trump).

It's what the repugs do now... Pretty much all they do now. But their margin to impeach is too slim and there are too many that would not survive it because they don't represent magaloon areas. You are correct, the magaloons believe everything they are told and they will keep spouting their lies regardless of what happens. But when they hold the televised hearings and real facts are shown their lunacy will only hurt them. It hurt them in '18, it hurt them in '20 and it hurt them in '22. And if the persist as they appear to be doing, it will hurt them in '24.

The inuendo of crimes is to influence voters. They don't need to prove it to sway voters, which, unfortunately some are dimwitted enough to believe.
