Just going to post the good part
Deace said: Before that man [Trump] needs to be president again [to] escape the quote-unquote, witch-hunts, that man needs Jesus again because his ambitions would be fueled by showing some self-awareness. And he wont do it because he cant admit, Im not God.
Ellis said Deace had perfectly articulated exactly how I as a voter feel. She knew Trump well as a friend, as a former boss, she said, adding: I have great love and respect for him personally.
But everything that you just said resonates with me as exactly why I simply cant support him for elected office again. Why I have chosen to distance is because of that, frankly, malignant narcissistic tendency to simply say that hes never done anything wrong.
And the total idolatry that Im seeing from some of the supporters that are unwilling to put the constitution and the country and the conservative principles above their love for a star is really troubling.
And I think that we do need to, as Americans and as conservatives and particularly as Christians, take this very seriously and understand where are we putting our vote.

(42,673 posts)She only became pro-Trump when she started getting paychecks from Trump. And if that cheapskate had agreed to pay her legal fees, no doubt she'd still be completely loyal.

Described by the New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman as a lawyer whom Trump sought out after seeing her television commentary, in 2020 Ellis rose from relative obscurity to become part of what she called an elite strike force team working to overturn Trumps defeat by Biden.

(18,014 posts)or is it she feels he can't win since he's damaged goods and a lost cause? Me thinks the later.
As for her being "troubled" about his mindless supporters, isn't following blindly a Christian thing to start with?
2 Corinthians 5 -7 " For we walk by faith, not by sight."
Not by sight. So they're kind of predisposed to metaphorically walking into walls and stumbling over furniture.

(121 posts)...chose him to show (fake) Christians how to avoid pesky democratic norms to advance their power. The end justifies the means.
The Fake Christians a.ka. Republicans are sick and we had plenty of warnings too, including the fact that those adults believe in magic. A giant flashing red light.

How does anyone love and respect any individual who has a "malignant narcissistic tendency to say he's never done anything wrong?"

Way too many right-wingers continually having to remind us that they got religion.
Watch what they do, not what they say.

And since she and Ghouliani were shoulder to shoulder during the 2020 election CT spreader events, it makes one wonder if Ghouliani's reference to "insurance" has now become a dud (and possibly so given the idiocy of Comer's assertions about Biden), and a throwing under the bus event will happen soon.
