I just saw an article on the interwebs which says the governor of New Mexico..........

....cue suspenseful music........ Has outlawed open carry in the city of Albuquerque for around 30 days. Of course all those "reliable critics" are going totally ape shit raging bonkers that a she is not in chains for committing such a blatant violation of their constitution.

Folks, a high ranking politician is infected with the true spirit of wokeness. Sanity may be finally breaking out in America. Be sure to mask up. Right?

It is the gun nuts with the guns that kill.

ABQ is ten times safer today than it was.

weapons of war that might was well be automatic firing hundreds of bullets in a short period of time.

Does the gun have anything to do with it at all?

Taking guns away from anyone but I can guarantee if I’m at Walmart and I see some man or woman walking around with an AK47 or a pistol hanging around their waist or leg I’m getting the hell out of there. These weapons are weapons of war not shopping. Good grief this country has gone mad

they keep for "personal safety" and try to shoot and unfortunately hit some innocent family member...hey, it happens but "ten times safer"! That innocent family member is just as dead.
But....we are "safer"???

help if a gun hadn't been in the house.

Or a man just snaps and kills his whole family.

Or a 3 year old accidently shoots his sister.

The real thing is that there's an actual elected official giving the finger to the 2nd amendment fetishes, the police departments, the ammo/camo freaks and Republican politicians who trade the death innocents for votes on a regular basis.

Only provides for possession and using firearm for self defense.
Not for carrying around in public places.

Sep 2023

A failed radicalized Republican candidate turned terrorist convinced some of his fellow cult members to randomly discharge weapons of war blindly into the homes of prominent elected Democrats in NM.

There has been a fatal shooting every day with the last being the killing of an innocent 11 year old boy in a road rage incident leaving a baseball game.

So, no matter what Ted Lieu and David Hogg believe, something has to be done.

I think any laws and regulations should be done in a way that allows every competent American, regardless of income, to have access if they choose, with the following requirements that are paid for with income based fees:

- Full background check that pulls in social media history as well.

- Discreet psychological evaluation that is controlled in a way to protect privacy and prevent bias/ discrimination.

- Required interview with at least 1 person who can vouch for the would-be gun owner, with exceptions for women who have left violent/abusive domestic situations.

- Required notification to other adults in the same home (if the other adults are dangerous or a threat, the conversation should be about leaving the situation, not adding fuel to the fire)

- Required safety and handling training.

- Required liability insurance that is income based and increases with each weapon purchased. Tickets issued / guns impounded when caught with unregistered guns.

- A limit to how many weapons can be mysteriously stolen from one individual - criminal penalties if the weapon was sold, given away or if negligence is suspected.

- Automatic prison time if a child is harmed or injured or harms someone else with an unsecured gun
