Her dad once got beat up by the cops for protesting the internment of his Japanese friends and neighbors.

My mom's mom was a fucking crazy bitch Berserker women many men feared. I feared her too. She was a welder in World War II and one of the very few women who kept her Rosie the Riveter job when the war ended. (My first serious girlfriend was sort of like that too.)

My dad's a related clan, but without all the blood and gore.
