Boy, Republicans missed the boat years ago...

They could have run Al Capone, Jeffrey Dahmer, O.J. Simpson, David Duke, George Lincoln Rockwell, Jack Ruby, James Earl Ray, Whitey Bulger, or any murderous, sociopathic, psychopathic criminal who was born in the US.

The methodology beginning with Nixon, followed by Reagan, has evolved into a combination of absolute 100% advocacy for a chosen individual whoever it may be, for the position of dogcatcher up to and including President, followed by pure unadulterated lying and the concomitant automatic gainsaying of anything that the opposition says or does. It’s actually rather simple and apparently foolproof. Yes, they have had some setbacks along the way, but when they reconnoiter and reassemble their troops, they come back stronger, and even more radical and insane than previously. It’s sort of like fighting the creature from the old movie, The Blob: the more energy you put into it , the bigger and more powerfully destructive it gets.

For example, Democrats win a few elections statewide in Georgia, so laws are passed prohibiting water from being brought to people waiting in line at precincts which have too few machines given the number of voters. And we all know where those precincts are, don’t we? This is how they think, and they have adopted a form of what the Allies’ position in World War II of unconditional surrender as regards the Axis powers; here, it is the unconditional defeat and surrender of the Democrats/liberals. They will not rest until all 435 seats in congress are Republican… No, I take that back…434 seats , so they would be one Democrat remaining so they have someone to blame for everything that goes wrong.

Mark my words, after we defeat Trump, and we will do so eventually, they will come storming back with someone even worse, which is almost impossible to believe but true. They are like the Terminator, and as much as they will not stop, will not rest, and cannot be bargained with.

Take the congress and retain the executive in 2024.

Number one order of business: Impeach and remove Republicans from the courts in order to create and enforce laws which make wittingly and publicly lying by public officials an imprisonable offense. "I don't know", would be a refreshing alternative reply from media questioning of candidates and cops.

It's not so difficult as it sounds at first. The unavoidable alternative is an endless parade of Reagan/Trump wannabes and their successes.

Are grooming another psychopath right now to take his place. The Koch Bros and the other filthy-rich families, along with some Russian money, are funding all these psychotic people in the GOP, in order to destroy democracy.

Democracy is such a danger to their ill gotten gains they have to squash it at every turn.

Trump and his henchmen were purposely selected to be rid of our democracy. And about a third of Americans, particularly religious Americans, are on board with that. Because nothing says I worship God more than worshipping a really ugly wannabe king.

from another point of view, namely, the extremism is what is killing the party. I doubt doubling down on an unappealing electoral strategy and anti-voter/xenophobic campaigning will be a winner. The nastiness they exude and which fuels their vengeance and grievance politic is a generational spasm of "not going calmly into that dark night". The pukes have nothing to offer. In the past they managed to propose things that people could buy into...heck, even trickle down managed to fool enough mainstream voters that it became national economic policy. As hollow as that was, it had more power to mobilize voters on the right. But now they are essentially the party that is trying to roll the clock back on civil rights, government oversight and regulation...perhaps I am being too kind...THEY want to DESTROY democracy.
That is not as appealing as they think.
I have faith in Americans to make better choices and to keep working until the job is done. The GQP is in a paroxysm of decay and "political cubism", a sleep of reason and the monsters it produced will not be vanquished until maga is dead. But then again, I see it dying daily. I even read that Orangeface will be indicted 7 times. That sounds like a winning strategy, for retiring from politics. We shall see, but it looks pretty good from here and the monsters under the bed are not real, because men are not monsters and no movement can succeed against the nation resolved to clean house. Cheers. GOTV! VOTE BLUE!!! It's GOOD FOR YOU!!!!

Millions of racist white male supremacist assholes from the Silent, Boomer and Gen X generations are desperately trying to turn back the clock. It won’t work. They’re an ever-decreasing segment of the voting bloc, and the generations born in the 80s and forward look at the world very differently than they do.

I think and hope they’re dinosaurs roaring at the meteor heading their way.

is larger than the Baby Boomers were. The Baby Boomers are dying out. Not all Baby Boomers vote for the repubs BTW. Gen Z hates repubs. They helped Michigan to win control of the House, Senate, College Boards & Supreme Court. They helped us reelect our Governor, AG & SOS. They helped us put abortion rights in our Constitution & increased voting rights. Give them the issues and they will help us defeat repubs.

since Nixon. Democrats try to plug them and pump out the water. That wastes time and energy and distracts from solving the real problems we face, like climate change.
