4 areas have decent chances over the next week. Anything in the GOM or western Caribbean will be especially concerning as those areas are over absolute rocket fuel hot water.

(2,034 posts)That graphic is probabilities out to 7 days. The wave referenced there isn't expected to develop (50%) until after it crosses South Fl. over the weekend and gets into the GOM.
Living next to the ocean for 30 years makes me a bit hyper sensitive lol. Not trying to falsely hype. It's been a rather "unremarkable" season so far and I usually post something as we enter peak season to non weather boards I'm on just to remind folks not paying much attention. I've seen some misleading posts like where's the storms and the usual El Nino means there will be no storms BS out there. Andrew was during an El Nino. It only takes one!

(14,838 posts)Tropical tidbits discussed them tonight. Said the one in the gulf might hit the tx Mexico coast as a ts or depression, maybe, but not much more.
Of the other 3, only the western most one looks like it has a track to threaten land, but probably not as a strong storm.
But, anything can happen. Just not getting worked up quite yet.
